Clinical Data Repository (CDR)

The CDR is a direct response by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) to the interoperability challenges identified by the community. The CDR connects different EHR platforms and aggregates clinical information in one easily accessible location. Practitioners taking care of Apple Health Managed Care enrollees can import data from the CDR into their EHR and view it in their standard workflow. By providing access to clinical information from outside the enterprise the CDR helps the care team gain a more comprehensive understanding of the patient's medical history. This enables clinicians to achieve better results for their patients and improve overall community health.

The program provides incentive payments to eligible professionals, eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals to accelerate the adoption and utilization of certified health IT.

HIT operations plan

CMS requires we have a strategy supporting service delivery and payment transformation as part of our Medicaid Transformation work. We developed a strategic roadmap identifying activities advancing health information exchange in response to this. The roadmap further calls out specific tasks which the annual Health IT operational plan outlines. We share progress on these tasks with stakeholders during monthly meetings and in quarterly reports to CMS.
