Uninsured Care Expansion Grant
The Health Care Authority (HCA) received $35 million in federal resources for the provision of health care services for uninsured and underinsured individuals under 200 percent of the federal poverty level, regardless of immigration status.
All eligible federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, free clinics, public hospital districts, behavioral health providers or facilities, behavioral health administrative service organizations, and community-based organizations were encouraged to apply between February 2 and April 22, 2022 for expansion grant funds.
The application period is now closed and we do not expect to receive additional funding for this grant.

Applicant support
HCA encouraged applicants to participate in Uninsured Care Expansion Grant application training and support huddles. An application training slide deck remains available for reference. This training material covers an overview of the grant and eligibility criteria, outlines how to complete a grant application, and what to expect after applying.
Throughout the application period, HCA also hosted weekly 30-minute meetings during which HCA grant staff were available to answer questions about the application process and provide updates. These were held every Thursday from February 9 through April 21, 2022.
