Department of Health suspends license of Rainier Recovery Centers
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has issued a license suspension for Rainier Recovery Centers in Pierce County. DOH has identified alternative treatment options in Pierce and Kitsap Counties and will post these options online.
Rainier Recovery Centers provides outpatient substance use disorder treatment at three locations:
- Gig Harbor
- Lakewood
- Puyallup
The notice to immediately suspend licenses is a new tool granted to DOH by the 2024 Legislature. It allows facility suspensions when immediate jeopardy to patient safety is determined to be likely. DOH believes the alleged actions of Rainier Recovery Centers have led to serious patient and community safety issues.
