PEB Board approves UMP benefit design proposal

On May 9, 2024, the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEB Board) met. Members attended in person at the Health Care Authority (HCA) in Olympia and remotely. The meeting was open to the public both in person and via Zoom.

The Board approved the following resolutions:

  • PEBB 2024-23 — UMP Diagnostic and Supplemental Breast Exam Coverage: Beginning January 1, 2025, diagnostic and supplemental breast exams to be covered at no cost share to Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) members. UMP CDHP members need to meet their deductible before the plan will pay any portion of the claim.
  • PEBB 2024-24 — UMP Diabetes Management Program: Beginning January 1, 2025, the Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) will implement a Diabetes Management Program.

HCA staff provided presentations on the following:  

  • Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) benefit design for diagnostic and supplemental breast exams cost sharing and implementation of a diabetes management program.  
  • Update on the Benefits 24/7 online enrollment system.
  • Criteria for evaluating proposals to offer property, casualty, or accident insurance through the PEBB program.

The next public meeting of the PEB Board is scheduled for June 13, 2024, at 9 a.m. Board members and the public may attend in person (masks are optional) or virtually via Zoom.
