PEB Board looks at 2025 legislation and budget reduction efforts

On March 13, the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEB Board) met. Members attended in person at the Health Care Authority (HCA) in Olympia and remotely. The meeting was open to the public both in person and via Zoom.

HCA staff provided presentations on the following:

  • Status of legislation moving through the 2025 legislative session
  • Washington’s budget reduction exercises and how this may affect HCA and the PEBB and SEBB Programs
  • Benefits 24/7 online enrollment system stabilization efforts
  • Appeals process overview and open enrollment appeals trends
  • UMP Classic Medicare coordination of benefits (COB) savings bank and updates on Medicare Part D transition and Medicare drug price negotiations
  • Overview of prior authorization and recent and upcoming law changes that affect prior authorization

The next public meeting of the PEB Board is scheduled for April 10, 2025, starting at 9 a.m. Board members and the public may attend in person or virtually via Zoom.
