Alcohol use treatment

Alcohol use treatment services are available for people enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid).

Do you need immediate assistance?

  • For a life-threatening emergency: Call 911.
  • For 24-hour suicide prevention or a mental health crisis: Call or text 988.
  • For substance use, problem gambling, or mental health support: Contact the Washington Recovery Help Line or the mental health crisis line in your area.

What is a standard drink?

One standard drink is equal to 0.6 fluid ounces of alcohol or 14 grams of pure alcohol.

That equals one 12 ounce can of beer, one five ounce glass of wine, or one and a half ounces of 80 proof liquor (one shot).

What are the affects of alcohol?

Some of the risks of drinking include:

  • Alcohol dependence
  • Anxiety
  • Blood clotting/low iron levels
  • Depression
  • Failure to fulfill obligations
  • High blood pressure
  • Insomnia
  • Premature aging
