Plan options 2025

UMP Achieve 1

UMP Achieve 1 uses Regence BlueShield’s largest network of providers. The plan offers a lower monthly premium than UMP Achieve 2 and UMP Plus, but has a higher coinsurance (the amount you pay your provider) than other UMP plans.

Annual costs

  • Medical deductible: $750 per person | $2,250 family
  • Prescription drug deductible: $250 per person | $750 family
  • Medical out-of-pocket limit: $3,500 per person | $7,000 family
  • Prescription drug out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 per person | $4,000/family

  • Pay $0 for covered preventive care when you see a network provider.
  • 24/7 access to on-demand virtual care.
  • Once the prescription drug deductible is met, you will pay a coinsurance amount at a network pharmacy, which is determined by the drug’s tier. For Value Tier and Tier 1 prescription drugs, the deductible is waived. Prescription drug benefit information.
  • Centers of Excellence program for Knee and hip replacement and spine care.
  • Full cost of programs, like tobacco cessation and, if you qualify, diabetes prevention.

In most cases, you must live or work in the medical plan’s service area to join the plan. All school employees are offered a selection of plans based on their county of residence or the county where their employment location is based. Some school employees may have more plan options if they work in a district that crosses county lines.

If you move out of your plan's service area, and your medical plan is no longer available, you must select a new plan. If you do not, the SEBB Program will enroll you in a plan. You must report your new address no later than 60 days after your move.

UMP Achieve 2

UMP Achieve 2 uses Regence BlueShield’s largest network of providers, but has a lower deductible than UMP Achieve 1 and UMP High Deductible. For most services, you can see a specialist without a referral.

  • Prescription drug deductible: $100 per person | $300 family
  • Medical out-of-pocket limit: $2,000 per person | $4,000/family

UMP High Deductible

UMP High deductible uses Regence BlueShield’s largest network of providers. UMP High Deductible covers the same services as UMP Achieve 2, but has a lower monthly premium and a higher deductible. When you enroll in UMP High Deductible, you are automatically enrolled in a health savings account (HSA) through our HSA partner HealthEquity who manages the account.

This allows you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for qualified medical expenses, including prescription drugs and more. Visit HealthEquity or watch their on-demand webinar to discover the many uses for your HSA. The State of Washington contributes $375 for an individual and $750 for a family annually, which is distributed throughout the plan year. Once the money is in your account, it’s yours, and there is no deadline to use it.
