SEB Board reviews proposed 2025 plan premiums

On June 20, 2024, the School Employees Benefits Board (SEB Board) met. Members attended in person at the Health Care Authority (HCA) building in Olympia and remotely. The meeting was open to the public both in person and via Zoom.

The Board approved the Meeting Minutes from June 6, 2024 meeting.

HCA introduced the following resolutions to the SEB Board:

  • SEBB 2024-09 – Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest (KPNW) 2025 Medical Premiums
    The SEB Board authorizes the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest 2025 employee premiums.
  • SEBB 2024-10 – Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington (KPWA) 2025 Medical Premiums
    The SEB Board authorizes the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington 2025 employee premiums.
  • SEBB 2024-11 – Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Options (KPWA-O) 2025 Medical Premiums
    The SEB Board authorizes the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Options, Inc. 2025 employee premiums.
  • SEBB 2024-12 – Premera 2025 Medical Premiums
    The SEB Board authorizes the Premera 2025 employee premiums.
  • SEBB 2024-13 – Uniform Medical Plan 2025 Medical Premiums
    The SEB Board authorizes the Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) 2025 employee premiums.

HCA staff provided presentations on the following: 

  • Annual plan procurement update and upcoming benefit changes for 2025.
  • Process for setting premiums and review of proposed monthly premiums by plan for 2025. HCA will ask the Board to vote at the next Board meeting on July 10.
  • A historical review, since the launch of the program, of how many SEBB members are enrolled in health care coverage and enrollment by plan.
  • Discussion on the 2025 SEB Board meeting schedule.

Next meeting 

The next public meeting of the SEB Board is scheduled for July 10, 2024, at 9 a.m. Board members and the public may attend in person (masks are optional) or virtually via Zoom.
