Learn about your new Medicare Part D plan

Beginning January 1, 2025, UMP Classic Medicare, Kaiser Permanente NW Senior Advantage, and Kaiser Permanente WA Medicare Advantage all have Medicare Part D coverage.

What does this mean for my coverage?

  • If you were previously enrolled in UMP Classic Medicare, you were automatically enrolled in UMP Classic Medicare with Part D (PDP).
  • If you were previously enrolled in Kaiser Permanente Northwest Senior Advantage, you were automatically enrolled in Kaiser Permanente Northwest Senior Advantage with Part D.
  • If you were previously enrolled in Kaiser Permanente Washington Medicare Advantage, you were automatically enrolled in Kaiser Permanente Washington Medicare Advantage with Part D.

Where can I find information about my PEBB Part D plan?

Visit the plan's websites:

I didn't know about this change. How was it shared with members?

The PEBB Program mailed the following materials to all affected retiree members:

  • October For Your Benefit PEBB retiree newsletter – mailed and emailed on October 9, 2024
  • PEBB Retiree Open Enrollment letter and FAQ - mailed on October 16, 2024
  • October UMP Medicare newsletter – mailed or emailed on October 18, 2024

Additionally, there was a PEBB retiree benefits announcement posted online and emailed on August 21, 2024.

Are my Part D premiums separate from my medical plan?

No, your PEBB plan monthly premium includes both your medical and Part D premium.

How much will my prescriptions cost?

Please contact your plan to learn about formularies and out-of-pocket costs.

Why can't I use manufacturer coupons for my prescriptions anymore?

Federal subsidies and manufacturer discounts cover a significant portion of drug costs for Medicare Part D plans, therefore you cannot use manufacturer coupons with a Part D plan.

Why do I have to pay another IRMAA now?

If your income is above a certain level, the Social Security Administration (SSA) determines the Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) you may pay in addition to your Medicare Part B and Part D premiums. Please contact the SSA directly for specific information on your IRMAA. You can also visit Medicare Interactive: Part D costs for those with higher incomes to learn more about IRMAA.
