Substance Use Recovery Services Advisory Committee (SURSAC)
SURSAC includes a panel of individuals with lived experience, legislative representation, and subject matter expertise related to behavioral health community needs, harm reduction, outreach, treatment, and recovery support services. The committee provides policy recommendations to the legislature. View the roster.

Recommendation plans
Since 2023, SURSAC has recommended several measures, many of which were adopted per 2E2SSB 5536, to help individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) access outreach, treatment, and recovery support services that are:

- Plan recommendation 18 (Continuum of Housing) Provide a continuum of housing along the substance use and recovery spectrum, including people who use drugs. Safe Supply Work Group (SSWG)
The primary objective of SSWG is to conduct a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the current situation, ultimately providing a preliminary report and recommendations to the governor and the relevant legislative committees no later than December 1, 2023.
A final report is expected to be submitted by December 1, 2024, encompassing the work group's conclusive findings and recommendations.

How to offer public comment during meetings
- If you want to provide feedback during the meeting, mention this in the chat at the beginning of the meeting.
- There will be designated time for public feedback in the last 5-20 minutes of the meeting, depending on how many people want to share
- Each person will have 3 minutes to provide their feedback.
- Non-committee members will remain muted during the meeting until it is time for them to share feedback, if requested.
- Feedback that is not provided during the meeting can be submitted via email.
