Behavioral health and recovery rulemaking

The agency intends to amend existing rules and develop new rules to implement the remaining requirements in RCW 71.24.920 related to certified peer specialists.

The agency intends to update these rules as authorized in Second Substitute Senate Bill 5555 (68th Legislature, 2023 Regular Session), creating the profession of certified peer specialists.

As directed in ESSHB 1134, Sec. 9, Chapter 454, Laws of 2023 and subsequently codified in RCW 71.24.903, the Health Care Authority is creating rules to establish standards for issuing endorsements to mobile rapid response crisis teams or community-based crisis teams.
