About the committee
HCA's Apple Health Medicaid Advisory Committee advises us on all aspects of medical services for the Apple Health (Medicaid) program, including program policy and administration. It is required by federal regulation and in our Medicaid Title XIX State Plan.
Apple Health Advisory Committee on a temporary hold
Based on new rules coming from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), this committee is currently on a temporary hold. We'll update this page when new rules have been received. Thank you for your patience.
Membership
The committee is composed of at least 12 and no more than 18 members, including representatives of these groups:
- Members of consumers' groups, including Medicaid recipients.
- Members of consumer organizations such as labor unions, cooperatives, consumer-sponsored prepaid group practice plans, and others.
- Board-certified physicians and other representatives of the health professions who are familiar with the medical needs of low-income population groups and with the resources available and required for their care.
- The secretary of the Department of Social and Health Services or the secretary of the Department of Health or designee.
The HCA director appoints members for three-year terms from nominees identified by appropriate professional organizations and consumer groups. View the Apple Health Medicaid Advisory Committee bylaws.
Meeting materials
The committee meets the fourth Friday of every other month, or at other times mutually agreed upon by a majority of members. The chair may call special meetings.
