Description
The agency is amending existing rules related to diabetes education. The agency is proposing to move the current diabetes education rule out of chapter 182-550 WAC and into a new chapter 182-564 because the diabetes education program is not restricted to outpatient hospitals. The agency is updating curriculum requirements to align them with Washington State Department of Health requirements for this program. The agency is also removing outdated billing requirements.

WAC 182-500-0035 Medical assistance definitions -- F

Effective November 14, 2022

"Fee-for-service (FSS)" - The general payment method the agency or agency's designee uses to pay for covered medical services provided to clients, except those services covered under the agency's prepaid managed care programs.

"Fiscal intermediary" means an organization having an agreement with the federal government to process medicare claims under Part A.

"Full-scope coverage" means that the client is entitled to the benefits in the scope of service categories under WAC 182-501-0060.
